Gaza and the children crossing the U.S. border

In west Texas, a few feet from the Mexican border I saw an Israeli flag. The sweet owner of the flag is an evangelical Christian of a stripe that believes that a Jewish Israel will play a central role in the second coming of Jesus Christ, following Armageddon. This Israeli flag flies on a border, that criminalizes one side and not the other, that clears the runway for the capital race to the bottom, that monitors the flow of workers to keep assuring the stability of an underclass in the United States, that assures cheap food and access to services, without having to own the reality of this subsistence wages in the richest nation in the world, that protects a global economy dependent on oil the control of which, fuels wars and the destruction of our earth , the pursuit of which requires access to the oil rich middle east and the unconditional support, of a Nation willing to massacre children in the way of its goals When the United States sees children on its border as a security threat it has lost its mind. When the U.S. sees a nation that bombs schools and refugee camps as a worthy of emergency military aid, support of a Jewish Israel looks indeed, like a slow painful Armageddon. If we can continence that level of evil why can’t we consider how to create a world without borders or flags? It is not the way to rapture – but to a sustainable world. In the meantime- United States, Senate, Congress, President : Money for children on our border not for the murder of children in Gaza.
